Company > Our History

Optimism, intuition, flexibility, a firm will to assert ourselves and develop: this is the philosophy of Fiori engineering so as to always come out the winner and  continue to grow and strengthen our structures.

Fiori was born on 27 December 1942 of the undisputed entrepreneurial ability of the Knight of Labour, Fioravante Malavolta, who in the height of the Second World War with only 58,000 liras in his pocket decided to convert ex military material of good constructive quality (vehicles, tracked vehicles and various components) into machines for the building sector and winter road clearing vehicles.

After specialising in the construction of transport vehicles for building sites (dumpers, cranes, self-loading trucks) from the mid-forties to the mid-sixties, in 1956 the company presented its winning horse on the Italian market for the first time: the 2-wheel drive DUMPER. This marked the beginning of a long and successful series of small specialised vehicles, economical and flexible in use.

Also contributing to the triumph of the Fiori brand in these years was the production of winter road clearing vehicles, such as snowploughs, salt spreaders and the first Italian tracked vehicles or snowcats. The success of the dumper, above all as concrete transport vehicle, in 1965 led to the creation of a means that could simultaneously produce and transport concrete: the self-loading concrete mixer. With this absolutely Italian product, Fiori proved its high capability of innovation and undoubted professionalism.

Having become a leader on the Italian market, in the sixties Fiori resolutely set out to also conquer the foreign markets spreading out to all the continents: from Africa to the Middle East, from South America to Australia.

The two lines, dumpers and concrete mixers, kingpin of the company, were progressively optimised from the viewpoint of quality, versatility and efficiency with non-stop development activities.

In fact, in 1999, the new S series of self-loading concrete mixers were presented at the Samoter international trade fair.

Because of the innovative content of the machine and the patent obtained for the possibility of turning the drum 240° and being able to dump the concrete on all sides, the machine was conferred with the Samoter 1999 novelty award. Fiori’s constant commitment to renewal and upgrading was reconfirmed in 2005 when it received the Samoter 2005 International award for its unstinting commitment to technological innovation and quality of the objectives pursued.

On the verge of the new millennium Fiori S.p.A. was in a position to offer a complete series of four systems:

  • SMS – self-propelled mixing systems (the most complete and advanced on the market)
  • RDS – Transport systems with driving reversibility
  • SJS – Excavation, loading and transport systems in the versions

- Compact Line

- Micro Line

Today Fiori is a leading company, both in commercial and in production structure: it is in fact one of the few enterprises that takes care of the entire production cycle, from the raw material and design to the finished machine distributed on the worldwide market.
